French Spoken Punctuation
WhisperTyping's transcription engine automatically adds punctuation like periods, commas, and question marks as you dictate. For more control, you can also speak punctuation commands explicitly in French — say the punctuation name while dictating, and it will be converted to the appropriate symbol.

French Typography Note: WhisperTyping automatically adds the proper narrow non-breaking space (espace fine insécable) before ? ! : and ; as required by French typographic rules.

Numérotation mixte : Si vous dites “numéro point trois” puis “numéro point”, la numérotation automatique continue à partir de 3, vous donnant 4, 5, 6, etc.
Tip: The transcription engine may automatically add punctuation in many cases. If you find spoken punctuation is conflicting with auto-punctuation, you can adjust the punctuation settings in Settings → Transcription.
Start with a lowercase letter / Commencer par une minuscule
The transcription engine normally capitalizes the first word of every dictation. If your cursor is already in the middle of a sentence and you want to keep writing without forcing a capital, begin your dictation with the words “en minuscule” as the very first words. They are stripped from the output, and the next word stays lowercase.
Example: Cursor is sitting after “Je suis allé au magasin et”. Say “en minuscule j'ai acheté du pain” and you get “j'ai acheté du pain” (lowercase “j”) appended, instead of “J'ai acheté du pain”.
This only works when “en minuscule” are the very first words you say in that dictation.
